Vanguard reports that in a bid to neutralize various degree of apprehensions going on in the country concerning  the ministerial appointments, the presidency has promised that President Muhammadu Buhari will still stay true to his words.

Recall that the president had assured Nigerians that he would appoint his minsters come September 30. Nigerians wee however speculating that the president might not be able to meet up with the deadline due to the fact that the month is already few days to end without any indications.

Also, the ongoing predicaments of the senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), has got many thinking that the September 30 deadline might not be met by the presidency. This is because the senate whose function it is to receive and screen the minister nominees from the presidency is on vacation to resume on September 29, just a day before September 30.

However, in a recent chat with Vanguard, the senior special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, urged Nigerians not to worry as the deadline given by president Mohammadu Buhari to form his cabinet has not yet elapsed.

“Time given has not yet elapsed and the president himself said of by September 30, there is no cabinet, you should come and ask him questions. That is it.”

In an exclusive interview with France 24’s François Picard on Wednesday, September 16, Buhari reiterated his promise to name his ministers by the end of September, noting that the month seems to be running faster than usual. ‘The end of the month is coming too quickly for my liking. Yeah, I will stick to it. I will send the names to the national assembly.”
