A Jos, Plateau State-based businessman and Chairman of the Igbo Cultural Association (ICA), Barrister Jonah Okey Ezekwueme, has called on the people of Plateau State to continue to support and cooperate with security agencies and the government of Governor Simon Lalong to enable them recover the lost glory of Plateau State.

Ezekweme said the state needed to be returned to its status as “Home of Peace and Tourism”.

He commended the steps taken so far by Lalong in the maintenance of peace in the state.

Ezekwueme, who disclosed this to journalists in his office, said the relative peace being enjoyed now has given them hope and the people have started going about their normal businesses without fear of intimidation.

Ezekwueme said since the inception of Lalong’s administration, Ndigbo and Plateau State people have heaved a sigh of relief and have been going about their normal business activities as a result of the relative peace he has been able to bring to the state, especially Jos metropolis.

He appealed to the All Progressives Congress-led government to carry along the Igbos in appointment into key positions so that they would be able to contribute their quota for the development of the state.

On his tenure as the President General of Igbo Community in Plateau State, Ezekwueme said his administration has fulfilled its campaign promises, which include the building of a befitting Town Hall for Ndigbo, inauguration of the ICA women’s wing, the reorganization of the youth wing, empowerment of Igbo youths, repositioning of Igbos through synergy among them in the state and the homage to the Eze Ndgbo II recently.

He appreciated Ndigbo for giving him the necessary cooperation and called on them to support whoever emerges as the next president of the ICA. (Eagle Online)
