2023: Umahi, Ohanaeze youth, vow to make Igbo land peaceful

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has ahead of the 2023 general election vowed to collaborate with Ohanaeze Ndigbo, especially its youth wing, to make the southeast zone, the most peaceful region in Nigeria.

Umahi noted that only peace and unity can earn the region their future ambition and that there will be greater development and progress in all parts of Igbo land if peace is given chance.

Umahi made this known while addressing the members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, during a solidarity rally organized in honour of the National youth leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Engr Damian Okafor that took place in Ishiagu community, Ivo LGA of Ebonyi state.

The governor represented by the council chairman of Ivo LGA Chief Onyebuchi Ogbadu said the southeast region is blessed with lots of mineral resources as well as good leaders that are poised to see that the region grows with great development.

He tasked Ohanaeze Youths as well as APC youths to respect constituted authorities and leaders to ensure that peace and unity are maintained in the region, especially in Ebonyi State.

“Peace and unity are the only vital tools for development. The youths should maintain peace in all they do.

He equally stressed the importance of unity in the All Progressive Congress, APC, ahead of elections: “APC Youths should get more united for the progress and good of the party in general” he noted.

Earlier in a remark, the National youth leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo youth worldwide, Damian Okafor commended the leaders of the zone for the inclusion of youths in governance and called for more opportunities for youths to participate in elective positions.

Okafor, however, vowed to work in collaboration with all youths and leaders of the southeast region to ensure that peace and unity reign in the zone.

He equally commended the leaders of the region especially the chairman of the south-east governors’ forum, David Umahi for supporting Ohanaeze, especially the youth wing.
