Abia_state_towerThe police in Abia State have foiled what would have otherwise been a bloody clash between Vikings and Ayez confraternity in the state polytechnic, Aba.

The clash was averted following the arrest of four suspected cultists and recovery of a locally made pistol with a round of live cartridge.

Acting on a tip-off, that Vikings and Ayez secret cults were warming up for a clash on 30th September 2015, operatives of the police moved in and in collaboration with the school’s security outfit, arrested one Umahi Emeka Titus, male, 21 years old and a student of statistics from whom was recovered a locally-made pistol with a live round of cartridge.

Others included Obiyor Darlington Chinoso, male, 25 years old Higher National Diploma (HND) I Accounting student and Molongwa Jesus Agustin, male, age 28 years and an, HND I Computer Science student suspected to be members of Vikings secret cult and Ochoma MacDonald, male, aged 28 years, a graduate of Computer Science suspected to be a member of Ayez secret cult.

The four suspects have since made useful statement to the police in which they claimed membership of the various cult groups, and are assisting the police in trying to identify and fish out other members of the cult groups and bring them to justice. (Daily Times)
