Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano has explained that the N20 million, which the state government recently approved for each of the 177 communities in the state was for development works in those communities.

Already government has asked various communities to forward projects that would enhance their well-being.

Governor Obiano made the explanation at the first session of the 30th Synod of the Diocese on the Niger, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, held at St. Andrews Church, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Council Area.

With this, Obiano cleared the notion in some quarters that the approved sum is for the Presidents-General and Traditional Rulers.

He emphasised that the money was for no other thing than development of the communities to touch the lives of their people.

While calling on Anambra people to continue to pray for his administration, the governor reiterated the government’s resolve to secure the lives and property of people and residents of the state.

In his sermon, Rt. Rev. Duke Akamisoko, the Bishop of Kubwa Diocese, Federal Capital Territory, harped on the need for Christians to obey God’s words at all times as he said that His favor and mercy cannot come without obedience to His word.
