Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK have reportedly killed no fewer than 61 terrorists suspected to be members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP.
Popular security expert, Zagazola Makama, who disclosed this in a report he posted on X on Monday, said the operation was carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force.
He said the success was recorded when the daredevil assailants attempted to infiltrate Malam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno on Wednesday morning.
According to the report, the terrorists were advancing on foot, deploying armed drones in a desperate bid to breach the defences of troops at the 68 Battalion location, when they were resisted by the troops.
Quoting military sources, Makama said the integration of air and ground manoeuvre ensured that the terrorists were fixed, targeted and neutralised in large numbers.
DAILY POST reports that the security situation in the state took another turn for the worse recently, with several persons killed by the assailants.
