Sacked Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Jude Ejiogu, weekend took his sack spiritually, saying God had plans for his future. Ejigou in a statement he personally signed, said he was convinced that he was not removed as a result of incompetence, mediocrity or negligence of duty, stressing that he was “leaving as a happy person with my shoulders very high.
“Convincingly, I know the Governor’s decision to relieve me of my position was not as a result of failure, incompetence, mediocrity or negligence of duty on m part, but it was a sound desire to give another Imolite the privilege to contribute his or her quota aimed at developing our dear state, the Eastern Heartland. God has plans of future elevations in my life, through which I can continue to touch the lives of the good people of Imo State positively in many ways.”
While saying that his greatest joy had been to serve Imo people to the best of his ability, Ejiogu also commended the Governor Rochas Okorocha for giving him “the priceless opportunity” to showcase his experience and expertise. He commended the citizenry, who he said not only had faith in him over the years, but had also supported him in so many ways, including prayers for his success.
It would be recalled that Ejiogu started his political career in Imo State as an adviser on Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, and later became the Chairman of the Board of Internal Revenue, BIR, and Chairman Local Government Service Commission. Okorocha later appointed him the Chief of Staff, COS, and after three months, appointed him Commissioner for Special Duties, which he carried out till the end of the first tenure.
After the 2015 general elections, Okorocha appointed him as Secretary to the Government, until he was sacked on March 18, 2016, through announcements on the airwaves of Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC, Owerri. (Vanguard)
