
A 40-year-old man Onyebuchi Anikwe has beheaded his mother, Mrs. Felicia Anikwe in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The incident occured at Nkporogwu Ukehe Community because of lack of food in the house.
It was gathered that the suspect, a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, had allegedly been battling psychiatric challenges for some time.
Sources in the community further said he had allegedly stabbed his brother, Kingsley Anikwe, to death.
Police operatives attached to the Igbo-Etiti Division recovered the remains which were taken to a hospital.
The suspect was reportedly rescued from a mob that descended on him after the incident.
Also, at Agu-Ekwegbe Community in the same local government area, a man identified as Joshua Eze allegedly killed and severed the heads of his sister, Nwabuche Eze, and her little daughter, Favour Eze.
