A prominent education foundation in Enugu State, The Peter Nwomeh Foundation has announced details of its first workshop on career guidance and counseling for students on Friday, 1st of July, 2016 at the WAEC Hall of Ozalla High School, Ozalla, Nkanu West LGA of Enugu State.
The event will also feature the unveiling of the foundation’s first scholarship award in the physical sciences to an undergraduate from the area.
A statement issued by the president of the foundation, Prof. Ben Nwomeh said the target beneficiaries/participants of the one-day workshop are senior secondary school students, school leavers and youths in Ozalla town and its environs.
It explained that the objective of the one-day workshop, to be chaired by one of foundation’s donors and former Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Frank Nweke II, is to equip, inspire and empower the participants to make the right career choices that will bring out the best in them to be successful in life.
Guest speakers and resource persons expected at the workshop are seasoned motivational speakers and career guidance and counselling experts including Mrs. Chinelo Udeh, former board member of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (EN-SUBEB), Dr. Chris Ngwu, Head of Department of Mass Communications at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Dr. Uju Agomoh, Executive Director of PRAWA, Enugu, Mr. Ephraim Chukwuma Okenwa, the popular radio commentator, public speaker and CEO of Values Project, Enugu, and Dr. Maxwell Ngene, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Renaissance University, Ugbawka, Enugu State.
Some of the topics to be discussed are: “Be the best in all you do”, “Choosing your career path”, and “Key success factors”.
The statement said dignitaries expected at the workshop are advisory and consultative board members and donors/partners of the foundation, community leaders and lovers of education and youth empowerment in the area.
