The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Sulu Gambri, has urged the Federal Government to initiate speedy action against the frequent attacks by herdsmen on rural communities in order to prevent another security crisis similar to that caused by Boko Haram in the northern parts of the country.
According to Gambari those behind this mayhem are not Fulani but persons who are taking advantage of the incessant crisis and lack of government intervention to cause the loss of lives and property.
He was speaking in Ilorin when the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, who was on an official visit to the state paid him a courtesy visit.
Osinbajo assured the monarch that the Federal Government remains committed to its fight against terrorism and other forms of attacks on innocent Nigerians.
Speaking on his mission to the state, Osinbajo said that the country must take steel manufacturing to the level in which it would provide all of Nigeria’s needs and also enhance exportation.
He was in the state to carry out a ground breaking ceremony for a steel sheets manufacturing site. (The Authority)
