Wife of the president, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari seized the occasion of the flag-off of her Health Screening Initiative Programme in Enugu State to appeal to the people of the South East to support her husband’s administration.
Aisha, who spoke at the Queens School, Enugu, venue of the event, described the current administration at the federal level as a government of unity, support and integrity.
Even when the Igbo did not vote for her husband in the last general elections, the First Lady who received a tumultuous ovation from South East women at the occasion assured the people that Buhari’s government is set to turn things around for the better.
She noted that the health screening programme was initiated immediately the present administration came on board with a collective vision to improve the lives of women and children in Nigeria.
She expressed happiness to be part of the screening in which thousands of women will be tested for different ailments across the country to enhance health status and well being of women and children.
The wife of the president noted that the health screening initiative programme was voluntary for all participating medical personnel taking part in the exercise across the country.
In her speech, wife of Enugu governor, Mrs. Monica Ugwuanyi said the state and South East was witnessing mass medical screening of various tests for over 2,000 women in a day, describing it as a miracle happening in Enugu and the South East. (Daily Sun)
