President Muhammadu Buhari will swear in ministers-designate next Wednesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC), said on Twitter on Saturday.
This implies that the much awaited Federal Executive Eouncil (FEC) will be constituted next week. On Tuesday, Senate President Bukola Saraki had submitted a list of confirmed ministers to the president at the presidential villa.
The president had on September 30 submitted the first list of ministerial nominees containing 21 names to the senate. In October, he submitted a second list containing 16 names.
However, he later withdrew the nomination of one nominee- Musa Ibeto from Niger state- owing to an administrative error. In all, the senate confirmed 36 nominees as ministers after a screening exercise that lasted five days.
Some of those confirmed as minister were Lai Mohammed, Babatunde Fashola, Kayode Fayemi, Ogbonnaya Onu, Audu Ogbeh, Ibe Kachikwu, Amina Mohammed and Chibuike Amaechi.
Others were Heineken Lokpobiri, Cladius Daramola, Adebayo Shittu, Shehuri Mustapha, Ocholi James, Adewole Folorunso, Bawa Bwari, Geoffrey Onyeama, Zainab Ahmed, Mansur Dan Ali, Usani Uguru, Okechukwu Enelamah, Anwuka Anthony, Musa Bello, Adamu Adamu, Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim and Aisha Abubakar.
