The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has insisted that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu ended the sit-at-home order in the Southeast and not the Nigerian military.

IPOB said the military’s claim of ending the sit-at-home order in the Southeast was laughable.
Emma Powerful, the spokesman of IPOB, said the military men hid in the barracks and removed their uniforms while claiming to enforce an end to the sit-at-home.
In a statement he signed, Powerful said Kanu ended the sit-at-home through the distribution of flyers, posters, and banners.
The statement reads partly: “The claims of the Nigerian military of being responsible for stopping the infamous sit-at-homes are laughable. As much as the sit-at-home was an IPOB brainchild and a powerful strategy of IPOB before the Nigeria Agents hijacked and abused it, its ending was as a result of proactive actions by IPOB and our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU.
“IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu printed flyers, posters, and banners informing our people that sit-at-home is over and has been over.
“The Nigerian military must stop telling lies that they stopped sit-at-home. How did they stop the sit-at-home that they were complicit about? Our intel reveals that Nigeria Security Forces removed their uniforms to enforce Monday sit-at-homes in the Southeast.
“IPOB and our leader, Mazi Nnamdi KANU, ended the infamous sit-at-home, not the Nigeria military. The Nigerian military aggravated the sit-at-home by their tacit support of the criminals enforcing the sit-at-home so that they can blackmail IPOB and ESN.”
