Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has canvassed the need to entrust youths with positions of responsibility in the country, saying that youths have the capability to develop the country.
He said to become change agents, which Nigeria needs at the moment, youths should venture into politics because their involvement would help in developing the country.
Obi spoke at this month’s edition of Words of wisdom series organised by the Wesley Chapel, according to a statement.
The former governor, who spoke extensively on his experiences both as a corporate executive and a politician, said young people should get involved in politics and become change leaders.
He said, “Many people have said politics is negative and therefore, they don’t want to be associated with it. My candid advice to all young Nigerians is that they should get into politics and actively participate.
“Yes, you might have dissenting views concerning politics and all that is done in government, but if you don’t participate, how do you expect your beloved country to develop? How your future and that of Nigeria shape up depends on the role you play in the development of the nation.” (Punch)
