The Anambra State Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has vowed to continue its strike until Governor Willie Federal-High-Court-LagosObiano pays its workers the Consolidated Judiciary Staff Salary Structure (CONJUSS).

During its rally yesterday, workers, who came from the 21 councils said the government’s condition that it would implement the new salary structure when its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) improved, was unacceptable.

JUSUN’s Chairman Mark Ifezue described as unfortunate, a situation where the government attached the implementation of CONJUSS to improvement in the IGR.

He argued that the IGR more than doubled last year and wondered where the money was kept.

Ifezue said rather than keep the workers in suspense, government should state clearly when it would pay.

Some workers said: “We are demanding our right; we are not concerned about IGR and its improvement. Anybody who is linking the implementation of CONJUSS to IGR is insulting us.

“Many of our retired colleagues have become beggars because their entitlements have not been paid. We do not understand why Anambra State judiciary should be different from other state’s.” (The Nation)
