Barring any last minute change, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2019 elections, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, alongside her teeming supporters will today defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP led by its National Chairman, Dr. Iyiorcha Ayu, had on March 5 attended the wedding of Natasha to Mr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in Kogi State.
The move by the PDP leaders appeared to have materialised with Akpoti-Uduaghan, alongside her supporters, set to join the PDP today in Kogi State.
Akpoti-Uduaghan in a statement yesterday from her media office said, “Yes, everything is set. We have reached an understanding with stakeholders and our teeming supporters and we are going to the PDP.
“It is an incontrovertible fact that she is miles away from other crops of politicians who are only visible during electioneering. She has been with her people and contributing immensely to alleviate their predicaments.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan noted that moving to PDP was to actualise her dream of contributing more to the development of her people.
She stressed that she has the capacity and the people at her back to domesticate governance that seems like rocket science.
Akpoti-Uduaghan said she provided potable water supply at strategic locations across Kogi State, empowered hundreds of thousands of women and youths through her impact investment mission and provided succour to the less-privileged as part of effort to uplift her people.
