Udi/Ezeagu group applauds Ugwuanyi’s development

The people of Udi and Ezeagu Local Government Areas of Enugu State, under the auspices of Udi/Ezeagu Progressive Alliance, have declared their support for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, describing him as “a man of peace” and non-sectional leader, who has entrenched good governance and created an enabling environment for peace, politics without bitterness, development and businesses to thrive in the state.

Speaking when the group paid a courtesy visit to the governor, at the Government House, Enugu, the Director-General (DG), Ozo Onyebuchi Ani, thanked God for the wisdom He gave Ugwuanyi to govern Enugu State successfully, at this difficult period the country is being confronted with various economic, security and public health challenges.

Ani said that “if not the wisdom God gave to you, we don’t know how our state would have survived”.

The DG who applauded the governor for his administration’s transformation agenda, especially in the rural communities, also commended him for the way he handled the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak in the state.

“Your swift intervention helped civil servants in the state not to feel the full impact of the pandemic; we say thank you sir”, he said.

Ani told the governor that they visited him to also “show solidarity and support to your government”, disclosing that “we are made up of engineers, doctors, lawyers and craftsmen, among others”.

Also speaking, the Ezeagu leader of the group, Ifeanyi Ifeacho, equally thanked Gov. Ugwuanyi “for the peace we enjoy in Enugu State and the enabling environment to play politics freely and peacefully in the state”.

Ifeacho pointed out that the governor, through his administration’s peace and development initiatives, has made Enugu State a centre of excellence in the entire South East geo-political zone.

“Your Excellency, under your leadership, Enugu State is in the hands of God. You are a man of peace; we want you to continue with your character and uncommon leadership style”, he said.

On his part, the Udi leader, Jude Igiriegbe, who appreciated God for the prevailing peace in Enugu State in view of what is happening in the country, maintained that Gov. Ugwuanyi is “a father that shows love to everybody” and a non-sectional leader.

He revealed that the alliance has assisted their members economically and otherwise, including the less privileged and other vulnerable groups, adding that they have been making progress for the benefit of the people of Udi/Ezeagu.

The event was witnessed by the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Festus Uzor.
