Former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has warned his supporters to refrain from making personal attacks on other aspirants and candidates of the 2023 general election.
Obi gave the warning on Sunday via his verified Twitter handle.
According to him, it has been brought to his attention that some of his supporters were attacking other aspirants and candidates.
While thanking his supporters for being on his side, he begged them to “imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship” and avoid name-calling his competitors.
According to him, elections are democratic and do not need to breed enemies.
He said, “It has been brought to my attention, and I have also observed that some of my numerous supporters are making personal attacks on other aspirants/candidates.
“Whilst thanking you for your support, which I sincerely value and appreciate, I humbly appeal that we all imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and avoid name-calling or personal attacks on other aspirants and candidates.
