Since 2015, General Muhammadu Buhari has invested more money building infrastructure in Niger Republic, than in the entire Southeast. Do not take my word for it. Please fact check me. He awarded a $1.96 billion contract for a Kano-Niger railway last year.
On February 26, 2020, the Buhari administration awarded an $81 million dollar contract for two roads from Jigawa and Sokoto, to Niger-Republic. In 2018, the Buhari regime also signed a $2 billion deal to build a refinery in Niger Republic in partnership with their government. Yet, the total capital expenditure of this government in the Southeast is not even up to $500 million since 2015. This is one of the chief causes of the unrest in the Southeast.
As long as injustice is pervasive in Nigeria, peace will be elusive in Nigeria. Give the Southeast Plan A, or they still go for their Plan B (apologies to Pastor Paul Adefarasin).
