Regarding the recent dilemma lurching the Abia State epoch of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over the zoning of its governorship ticket which escalated into protests, has led to police chaining off the party Secretariat. Weighty stakeholders of the party within the state have been latched in chaos over which zone should induce the next in line governor of the state.
Few members of PDP on Tuesday flounced the secretariat to protest what they concluded were steps by the State Chairman of the party, Asiforo Okere to foist adhoc delegates on them ahead of the party’s primaries for the upcoming 2023 general elections. The demonstrators who accused the chairman of trying every possible to diverge the affair in favour of an “anointed” candidate, called for his stoicism.
On Wednesday also, another crew of opposers stormed the party Secretariat in concord with the party chairman. The protesters, under the backing of Abia for Better Initiative and headed by apprised at odds with badgering of Abia PDP Chairman.
