The Lagos State police command has reportedly barred Uzoamaka Ohiri, ex-wife to Nedu Wazobia from criticising the comedian on social media amid the paternity scandal rocking their union.
The pair have been in the news since Nedu, whose real name is Chinedu Ani, shared the result of a DNA test showing their first son wasn’t his.
Their lingering face-off took a dramatic twist recently when officers of the state criminal investigation department (SCID) in Panti invited Uzoamaka.
In the letter dated September 7, Uzoamaka was directed to meet Margaret Ighodalo for the interrogation.
But on arrival at the SCID on Wednesday, the comedian’s ex-wife was reportedly grilled for six hours during which the officers were said to have also taken her photographs.
The police were said to have thereafter granted her administrative bail and asked her to return the next day — Thursday.
When she returned there on Thursday, Uzoamaka was reportedly asked to desist from making social media posts about her former husband before asking her to return again on Friday.
A relative to Nedu’s ex-wife was quoted as condemning the police invitation and subsequent three-day grilling.
“My cousin is seriously being harassed, humiliated and intimidated by the Police because of the status of her ex-husband,” Uzoamaka’s relative was quoted as saying.
“How does a family and civil matter concern the Police? The Commissioner of Police needs to caution his men.”
Uzoamaka is yet to also react to the police invitation and her grilling by officers at the SCID.
When contacted by TheCable Lifestyle, Adekunle Ajisebutu, police spokesman, said he is not aware of the incident.
“I’m not aware of that,” he said.
