Peter Mbah commends Ugwuanyi’s infrastructural development

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has been commended for his landmark achievements in infrastructure across the state.

The commendation was given by Dr. Peter Mbah, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate in the state.

Mbah disclosed this while addressing PDP faithful Thursday at Enugu South Local Government headquarters during his thank you visit to the people for their support during the PDP primary election which produced him as the party’s flagbearer, stressing that the state under Ugwuanyi administration has recorded impressive presence of good governance.

He stated that despite the paucity of funds in the past seven years, Ugwuanyi’s government has been prudent and disciplined in the management of the available resources accrued to the state.

Describing Ugwuanyi as a master sailor, Mbah promised to leverage on the achievements on ground by making Enugu State an investment destination for investors.

The PDP flagbearer, narrating while he paid the local government a thank you visited said he was motivated by the unalloyed support he enjoyed from the council area during the primary election.

“We have come here to discharge one essential obligation; to say thank you for your support and solidarity. We came to appreciate you for your faith in what we can offer. What Enugu South did on 25th May, 2022 through your one hundred per cent votes for us calls for gratitude, and we’ve come to show that.

“We are here to inform you the implication of what you did during the May’s party primary election. We want to assure you that the State will continue to enjoy development in it infrastructure and improved economy which Governor Ugwuanyi has already started,” he said.

Mbah who promised to come back and unveil his manifesto once INEC lifts ban on campaigns pledged to work closely with the leadership of the local government to make the area an economic hub in the state and also tackle poverty and unemployment.

“We are going to ensure that we lift our people from the pit of poverty by improving the economy and engaging the people in meaningful ventures across the state.

“Enugu State will have a fresh breath during our time. We are coming as agents of positive change. It’s not the kind of negative change some parties have been promising. We are talking of genuine change in the State. We are going to project Enugu State in a way our people will be proud of.

“Let me assure you of our clear strategy for the realization of our goals which will serve as our action plan for the state. We will have measurable indicators which the people will use in assessing our performance.

“We shall build our agenda on the three manifolds called PDP, which stands for Peace, Development and Prosperity. This will anchor on integrated programmes to accelerate development, employment and ease of business doing. This will mean derisking investment flow. It will also anchor on integrated rural communities and community policing which will involve everyone because security is everybody’s business,” Mbah added.

Speaking earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Chimezie Nkwuo informed party members who turned out in their numbers that Mbah had visited not to campaign but to show gratitude for the support the party gave to him few months ago at the primary election.

Nkwuo, speaking before Mbah and his team, expressed delight that destiny has beaconed on the gubernatorial candidate to lead Enugu State to the promised land, assuring him of massive vote at the 2023 general elections.

Also speaking, the member representing Enugu South Municipal Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Ngene reechoed the Chairman’s position, adding that Enugu South votes are intact for him because Governor Ugwuanyi has made the task easy with his massive infrastructure in the state.

Speaking in the same vein, the member representing Enugu South and North Federal Constituency, Hon. Offor Chukwuegbo appreciated God for the choice of Mbah and his running mate, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai, stressing the municipal’s readiness to mobilize for their victory.

“You’re a man I can attest to his character because we had previously worked together. We are promising that Enugu South is yours and we will give you a bloc vote at the general elections,” he further assured.

Ejike Itodo, Chief Barr. Ngwo Ngene, Hon. Onyinye Ugwu, Hon. Samuel Okechukwu Ngene, Hon. Chukwudi Nwankwo and Prince Uchenna Ogbodo.
