The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the Court of Appeal’s ruling, which restored its Anambra State Executive Council.
Daily Post had earlier reported on Friday that the Court of Appeal in Abuja voided the June 9 judgement by Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) sacking the Executive Council of the PDP in Anambra State.
In two judgments, the appellate court upheld the two appeals filed against the judgment by the High Court of the FCT.
The appeals marked: CA/A/359/2021 and CA/A/CV/368/2021 were filed by the PDP and Barrister Uchenna Obiorah.
Reacting, PDP, in a statement by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Friday, described the judgement as a victory for democracy and the majority of the people of Anambra.
The statement read, “The @OfficialPDPNig hails the judgement of the Court of Appeal, which upheld its State Executive in Anambra State ahead of the November 6, 2021 elections in that state.
“The @OfficialPDPNig describes the judgement as victory for democracy and the majority of the people of Anambra state who are fully rallying with the PDP and our governorship candidate, @valentineozigbo, in their quest to entrench a purposeful government in the state.
“This ruling gives us comfort that the @OfficialPDPNig and our candidate, @valentineozigbo are on the right side of justice because the judgment that has just been set aside is the superstructure upon which certain individuals who did not participate in our primary are seeking to distract our party and the people of Anambra State ahead of the election.”
