Ondo State : PDP candidate, Jegede, breaks silence over Supreme Court judgement

candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede, during the October 10, 2020, governorship election in Ondo State has congratulated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his victory at the Supreme Court.

While commending his supporters for their steadfastness since the legal firework began at the Tribunal, Jegede stated that the outcome of the Judgment should not “deter good and well-meaning individuals from aspiring for leadership in our State and in our Country.”

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court had in a four-to-three judgment dismissed the appeal filed by the PDP and its candidate, Eyitayo Jegede against the election of Akeredolu.

The PDP candidate added that with the judgment, which did not favour him and his party, his respect for the judiciary remained unshaken.

“We thank the National and State leadership, and the generality of the members of PDP for providing us with great support. For our governors who provided the required leadership and kept faith with our aspiration, gratitude, history will judge you right.

“With this outcome, our respect and reverence for the judiciary and our justices of the supreme court has not diminished.”
