A philanthropist and business mogul, Dr. Ifeanyi Odii, has been elected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Ebonyi State.
He polled 349 votes to defeat a former House of Representatives member, Sylvester Ogbaga, who had 12 votes, and Christian Usulor, polled nine votes in the exercise that took place in Abakaliki on Sunday.
Shortly before the results were announced, the Independent National Election (INEC) announced the cancellation of the poll.
INEC said in a statement by its spokesman Debo Ologunagba that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party cancelled the primary “after very extensive consultations, deliberations and review of all issues”.
