Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has delivered a valedictory speech to the Anambra people, as he bows out of office on Thursday.
Obiano, who also recounted his achievements in the last eight years, said he was confident that he had performed well in the State.
Part of the achievements listed by Obiano include his exploit in the educational sector, which led to the victory of students of Regina Pacis Secondary School, Onitsha, who won the first prize in the Technovation challenge in Silicon Valley, USA, defeating students from the US, China and other countries in the continent.
The Governor also listed agriculture, security and infrastructure among his achievements, citing the Anambra State International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri and the International Convention Centre, Awka, as some of his most audacious projects.
He said: “When I came in as governor in 2014, I read out a speech to you, promising to take the State to a greater height.
“Today, I can tell you that I have touched a dream, and I leave history to be the judge, and I’m sure I will be judged kindly.”
Meanwhile, as Prof Chukwuma Soludo prepares to take the oath of office on Thursday, Obiano, on Tuesday evening, showed him around the Government House, acquainting him with the various offices.
“I wish you well, and we will support you, to help you succeed,” Obiano told the incoming governor after the short tour of facilities in the seat of power.
