Former governor of Anambra State and elder stateman, Chukwuemeka Ezeife has said that Peter Obi, the presidential flagbearer of Labour Party is a gift from God to all Nigerians.
Ezeife made this known on Wednesday when he appeared on Arise TV Morning Show, monitored by Easterner.
The Igbo elder said he isn’t disappointed that APC and APC failed to choose a South-Easterner as their flagbearers respectively. According to him the designs of God for the country is great and something else must happen.
He further stressed that Ndigbo will not accept the vice-presidential slot for the two major political parties.
In his words:
”APC and PDP didn’t give us ( the presidential slot). Despite the fact that we’ve made sacrifices for PDP yet they didn’t give us. But we got something from Labour Party, God knows what His plans are. The designs of God is for greatness for this country.”
”If it is a matter for the highest bidder, I think it is over for PDP and APC. Something else must happen. God has taken over Nigeria’s politics to impose His will to dominate over man’s mess up of God’s design.”
When asked what he was referring to when he said God’s plan has taken over, Ezeife replied. ” We are coming out of a certain politics to something more relevant, development and positive in Nigeria. If Peter Obi becomes President of Nigeria, you will hear many people rejoicing, not for personal gains. People are rejoicing saying Nigeria has come alive.”
”Nigeria will explode in ecomic development. Peter Obi can fix Nigeria, not for the benefit of the Igbo but for all Nigerians. Peter Obi is a gift from God to all Nigerians. This is a turning point for our country and I’m proud of it. A new Nigeria is a coming.”
