An Enugu resident simply identified as Nenye, has taken to her twitter account to narrate her near Kidnap ordeal with a tricycle man in Enugu.
She Wrote “My life definitely flashed before my eyes today, if someone told me this could happen to me I won’t believe them, for real. This afternoon. I went to sort out some minor challenges I had at EEDC, I was done by 2pm and I chartered a keke to take me to my destination.
”So, I told him my destination and all, then the trip started. As we were going, he branched into another route, when I asked him what’s up, he said that Holy Ghost is heavily jammed with traffic, so I was like okay, I didn’t really think much to it. Then he kept going into the road, it was starting to get lonely, I was now asking him, oga please where are you going, he didn’t answer me, I asked him again, oga no answer me o.
”I was really scared at this point, usually your first instinct at this point will be to jump out but I was too shocked, my brain was still starting to understand what’s happening. When he now got to a junction, I asked him again, my voice was so shaky at this point “Oga please where are you going” He kept whispering “shut up, shut up”. Omo, my body just froze, I finally understood what was going on, Luckily for me, they were people in that junction, they noticed what was happening and highlighted the keke to stop, immediately they did that I jumped out of the keke and stood by their side asap.
They were now asking him where he was going to from that route, that people don’t use that route, he said that he’s going to New Artisan, I was like Oga the destination I told you was Obiagu not New Artisan, he kept on insisting that it’s New Artisan I told him which was an obvious lie, I then narrated to the people how he told me that he was following a shortcut because of Holy ghost holdup and when I kept asking him where he was going, he never said a word and at a point, started asking me to keep my mouth shut up because he saw that he was approaching people.
‘He kept on denying, saying, ”how can he want to Kidnap me because of 300 naira?”, you can just imagine. I’m so thankful that those men saw me because they were actually security personnels that weren’t on uniform at the time. They offered to take me to the nearest bus stop to my destination, and yea, they let the guy go, I still don’t know why even after I insisted they call the police.
”I’m so so grateful that those men actually stopped that keke, I don’t know what would have happened to me, this was broad day light, not even Night time at all. Omo, everyone should just be careful, share your location to your family and trusted friends always, never accept a shortcut you don’t know about, you might not be as lucky as I was. God I really give you all the Glory. Let’s just be praying to God we go out and come in everyday.”
