A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mike Ozekhome, and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu, will on Friday release a cheque of N1m for his drugs and feeding.
This was as the Special Counsel to Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor, raised the alarm after visiting Kanu with his family members on Thursday.
Ejimakor said, “I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in company of Prince Emma Kanu and Barr. Nnaemeka Ejiofor.
“He instructed me to make it public that he has not been given his drugs for the past nine days and he has not eaten today because DSS says that they don’t have money to buy his food.”
Ejimakor described this startling revelation as “sad”.
Confirming this development, Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emma Kanu said, “This is a confirmed story.
“Yesterday (Thursday), when we visited him, he has not had any food.
“I asked them (DSS) why, they said that there is no money for his regular meal and that they don’t have any money.
“So, we have also explained everything to the SAN, Mike Ozekhome.
“By today, SAN will prepare a cheque of N1m to be handed over to the DSS for his feeding.
“I will also make sure I raise money and take the DSS along with me to make sure he has enough food to eat since the federal government can’t take care of him.”
