‘Implosion imminent in Abia PDP’ – Party leaders

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) elders and leaders in Abia State yesterday warned that implosion was imminent in the chapter, unless the national leadership moved to pull it back from the brink.

They said an individual had sworn to produce the next governor and three senators, adding that he had put the entire party in his pocket.
They complained that although the majority of party faithful were waiting for the national chairman and secretary of PDP to reschedule the congresses and inform the electoral commission, an individual and his acolytes simply wrote a list of ad hoc delegates across the 184 wards.

They alleged that the list was being pushed to the National Working Committee (NWC) as the authentic list of ad hoc delegates in Abia State.
In a statement, the elders warned that only an individual would determine all 24 House of Assembly aspirants, eight House of Representatives contenders and three senatorial standard-bearers.

They said:”Abia State will be in the pocket of one individual if this is allowed to happen. Nothing like this has ever occurred in Abia State before.”

Signatories to the statement are Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senate Minority Leader, Ude Oko Chukwu, Deputy Governor, Senator Emma Nwaka, Dr. Chima Anyaso, Chief Ncheta Omerekpe. Chief Samson Orji, Chief Enyinnaya Nwafor, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Uzoma Nkem Abonta, Dr. Eme Okoro, Chief Charles Ogbonna and David Iro, a lawyer.
