The Imo State Police Command has begun investigation over the shooting of a family of five in Okporo in the crisis-ridden Orlu Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson for the command, Micheal Abattam, told the Punch that the command had swung into action upon receipt of a report about the incident.

He disclosed that the victims were shot while having a family meeting.

Abattam said that investigation would reveal the identities of those who shot the victims.

He said, “We started an investigation into the incident. They were in a meeting when they were shot. Investigation would unravel all the circumstances behind the shootings. Let us wait for the report of the investigation.”

A video footage that had gone viral had shown a family of five in the pool of their blood.

While two appeared to have died, the other three, which included two elderly men and a mother, were in pain, asking for helpers to come their way.

While some alleged that they were shot by the operatives of Ebubeagu Security outfit, others suggested that they might have been shot by other criminal elements.
