A traditional Chief Priest in Owerri, Reginald Ejiogu has threatened a spiritual war against the authorities of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education and students of the institution over the killing of a python.

It was gathered that students of the institution recently killed a python, that was said to have swallowed two goats on the campus recently.

The Chief Priest, upon noticing the incident, raised an alarm that the institution had killed the ancestral python of Owerri, threatening that nobody kills the python and goes scot-free without appeasement.

The Chief Priest reportedly gave the institution a 7-day ultimatum to come for appeasement, failure of which a calamity would befall the authorities of the institution and the students.

According to Vanguard, the institution has, however, opposed the demand for appeasement settling for prayers to repel the attacks, as the ultimatum elapsed on Wednesday 28th July 2021.

It was gathered that the institution had already held week-long prayer sessions to fortify the college against any attack from the ancestors of Owerri.

The situation has triggered tension in the school area and other parts of Owerri as the said Chief Priest insisted that anyone involved in the killing of the Owerri ancestral python without appeasement must die.

Efforts by Daily Post to reach the school management for comment on the development through the Public Relations Officer of the college, Tony Ololoh proved abortive as at press time.

Similarly, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Godson Orlando was unable to take his calls.
