Southeast Leaders have petitioned with President Muhammadu Buhari to set free Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) 001, Nnamdi Kanu from duress. The leaders made the plea on Friday morning in a peroration during a meeting with President Buhari at the Executive Council Chambers, New Government House Abakaliki, Ebonyi state. President Buhari is currently in Ebonyi State on a two days working visit. Chairman of Southeast Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Charles Mkpuma read the speech.
“We beseech you to dabble Justice alongside mercy in the case of our very own son Nnamdi Kanu”
Eze Mkpuma said the Leaders have commenced dialogue with all aggrieved organizations and individuals with aim of getting all of them to gather to a roundtable meeting for a harmonious solution so that peace will be restored to the region. The Leaders complimented the President for the completion of second Niger Bridge, Akanu Ibiam International Airport and a number of other federal government projects in the region. He also solicited for the President’s assistance for the southeast to come up with the next president of the country.
