Gunmen once, again, murdered and cut off the manhood of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Ukam Efut, on Tuesday eve, at a security checkpoint at Agwa, in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State. A fount from the community disclosed to Easterner that the police officer was shot dead by the hoodlums before they chopped off his manhood. The fount, who pleaded not to be publicized, stated that the gunmen ran into Ukam and his team at a checkpoint and began firing shots on them.
“Mr Ukam was shot and his manhood cut off by the gunmen who made away with it. One among the other two officers at the same checkpoint sustained severe wounds on his face.
“The location where the incident took place is called Okpo-Efi Junction, at Agwa, in Ejemekwuru road. It’s quite unfortunate that the hoodlums fizzled away with the officer’s private part. The community is still now.”
However, the chairman of the community, Ekene Onyejiekwe, who established the occurence told Easterner that the remnants of the dead cop had been taken to a nearby morgue in Owerri. When alerted, the State police image maker, Michael Abattam,also confirmed the incident, but added that two of the gunmen were also shot by the police during a gun battle.
