He was taken away on Wednesday night at about 9:30pm along Nasarawa Eggon/Arikya Road while he was on patrol.

The Nation reported that Abdulmalik ran into the kidnapper’s ambush, disarmed him and took him away

The DPO had a few days ago held a security meeting in the area with all the stakeholders where he expressed his determination to ensure farmers and herders have a good harvest this season.

When contacted, the commissioner of police Adesina Soyemi directed our correspondent to the spokesman of the command.

Several calls and text messages sent to Ramhan Nansel were not answered.

However, the overseer of Akun Development Area of Nasarawa Eggon local government, Hon Moses Anvah confirmed the kidnap of the DPO, noting that his development area has made a formal complaint to the commissioner of police.

The Nation learnt that the abductors of the DPO have demanded N5 million to free him.
