The two-storey building, located at No 7, Chiene Street, Achara Layout in Enugu State was engulfed by fire on Monday.
The incident which occured in the early hours of the day, led to the loss of valuable properties.
No life was lost as it was gathered that men of the fire service were effective at quenching the inferno.
The fire reportedly affected the last floor of the building and was spreading to the adjoining buildings when the firefighters arrived and eventually controlled the inferno.
“We got a distress emergency call from residents of this area this morning alerting us that there was a fire outbreak at No 7 Chiene street.
“On receiving the call, we immediately mobilised our men and fire engine to the scene. And we thank God that we were able to control and extinguished the fire at the point we met it,” the leader of the Enugu fire Service team, Mr. Chukwuma Ugwuaneke, said.
