Enugu gov’t lifts ban on keke, bikes, tipper-trucks

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has lifted the ban on operation of tricycles, motorcycles and tipper-trucks on Tuesday.

Ugwuanyi made this known on his verified Facebook page at the end of the security meeting which took place at the Enugu State government house, Enugu. The governor had on Sunday, invited the state leaderships of Association of Tricycle Riders Transport Union (ATRTU), Tipper Union and the Nkanu East and Nkanu West Local Government Area branches of Motorcycle Transport Union to a security meeting fixed on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

At the meeting, leaders of the Association admitted that hoodlums have infiltrated their associations to perpetrate criminal activities to tarnish their image. They tendered unreserved apologies to the governor, pledged to fish out the bad eggs among them and support the efforts of the security agencies to curb crimes in the state.

Following the resolution, the governor revoked the ban.
