Enugu 2023: Edeoga assures Peter Mbah of maximum support, sues for peace

One of the foremost Enugu gubernatorial aspirant in the just concluded Enugu State People’s Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial primary, has declared his support for Barr. Peter Mbah, who had emerged winner at the end of the exercise, after the later had extended the olive branch.

In a press statement he personally signed, Edeoga stated that, although the outcome of the primary election had been disappointing, especially in view of the robust campaign he had run and the wide acceptance of his message across the state, Mbah has reached out to him and his supporters, extending a warm hand of fellowship and as such they were disposed to offer their total support to him and the party.

Edeoga, who said after weighing his options and considering various suggestions by well meaning individuals and groups, including those who had thought he should have gone to another party, haven taken into consideration the wellbeing of the PDP in Enugu, the state itself and her people, he chose this current course of action.

He said since the primary had come and gone, it was time the members of the party came together to make the state great. According to him, “now is the time when intra party jostling should take the back seat. Now is the time to heal and the time to lend a hand towards building up our dear state.”

Continuing and in rallying support for Mbah, he said “in view of the foregoing I hereby urge all my supporters and the people of Enugu State at large to rally behind Peter Mbah for the tasks ahead”

He thanked all his supporters, groups and all the individuals who had contributed in various ways to make his campaign the popular statewide movement it was.
