Propaganda has its rightful place in political campaigns. It is however baffling that some persons could set aside decency out of shere mischief and a misguided desire to demarket a political opponent to deliberately twist facts that are in the public domain. What the electorate need at this crucial time is political education and enlightenment, not jingles that spread fallacies, innuendos and misleading messages.

It’s not only nauseating but also disingenuous to call Pinnacle Oil & Gas facilities at Lekki in Lagos “Ego ndi Enugu.” To say the least, the jingle is political propaganda taken to the extreme. The sources of funds for the Pinnacle’s transformative project are in the public domain and so are the strategic partners. Furthermore, anyone with even elementary knowledge of the complexity and the power dynamics of Nigeria’s Oil/Gas Industry would have no difficulty understanding the impossibility of Pinnacle securing Federal Executive Council’s approval for such a signature project if the chief promoter – Peter Ndubuisi Mbah- had any question of financial impropriety to answer at the EFCC. And to cap it off, President Muhammed Buhari personally commissioned the project.

Therefore, it’s safe to proudly say that the Pinnacle’s project isn’t our (Ndi Enugu) exclusive pride; it’s the pride of Ndi Igbo, and a clear testimony of what we’re capable of doing if given the opportunity to run the affairs of Nigeria for four years.

So, as far as the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry is concerned today, Peter Mbah is a hero and a pathfinder. He’s our own. Regardless of our political differences, we should celebrate rather than vilify him.
