The spokesperson of the Delta state police command, DSP Bright Edafe has alleged that in some cases of defilement, the parents of some of the victims collect money from the suspects and get an affidavit from court stating reasons they don’t want the matter charged to court.

Edafe in a tweet shared on his handle this morning, asked if this is the right approach to issues such as defilement.

”Adults defiling female children, what’s wrong with today’s society? Some parents even collect money from the suspects and get an affidavit from court stating reasons why they don’t want the matter charged to court. This is so so sad. If it’s to protect the victims? Is it right?” He tweeted
