Buhari extols Umahi on patrimony creations,in Ebonyi State

On the report of a revelation by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari announced yesterday, in Abakaliki, that he wasn’t shocked at the level of work reason is that the two-time governor is an architect of character. He started his two-day visit with the tasking of projects at the state-owned King David University of Medical Sciences, Uburu,  also a twin flyover, 12-kilometre dualised Federal Road, from Mbu, Enugu State to Uburu, the University Building and the University Medical Hospital, Facilities and Equipment.

At his first stop for the commissioning of the 700-metre scope twin-flyover (also called King David’s University flyover), which cost about to put up N2 billion, President Buhari said: “I am not an engineer by drill but my eyes are wide open, to see through my glasses. I am roused with this works and I am sure the projects will last. I thank the Governor on this venture and I am content to be a part of it.”

While in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the State, President Buhari also launched the Cancer Centre at the King David University of Medical Sciences, built and furnished by the Federal Government under TETFUND. Umahi, who appreciated the president for ratifying the endowing of the center, said the provision can column with other centers around the world.

“It is in the same standard as Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) and the State government also bestowed to the project to bring it to completion,” he told the President.

At the bespeaking of the hospital section of the university, the Ebonyi State governor appreciated the President for acceding to the request of the State government on the Federal Government to take over the affairs of the teaching hospital.

“This hospital is beyond the scope of any State government to run and we have been honoring your approval of our plea and are very proud that you are here to commission it in person.

“You have left a legacy in the development of this centre of excellence and it will never be forgotten,” he said.

At the inception of the Presidential Lodge at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Onueke, Umahi said that the tarmac and runway of the airport, constructed with concrete, had procured over 70 per cent completion, and will be due by the end of next month.

He also commissioned the five kilometers dualized airport road in Onueke, moulded by the State government as well as the reinnovated St Margaret Umahi International Market complex, a 750-metre length twin-flyover close to the market, and the Muhammadu Buhari Presidential Lodge, all in Abakiliki.
