Security beagles on Sunday the 17th of April (being Easter Sunday),engaged some unknown gunmen in dreadful gun battles in some parts of Orlu and Orlu L.G.A of Imo state. The Easterner learnt that the security agents also burnt down houses in the victimized communities. A well known brothel, Ukwu Aki in Amaifeke Orlu, was also burnt by security agents.
It was also uncovered that the shooting began at Banana junction before disseminating to other areas. Other areas who were affected includes Amanachi, Awo-idemili in the Orlu Local Government Area of the state. Many are feared dead as regards to the gun battle with a yet to be disclosed number of persons also injured.
Residents alleged that the security operatives attacked people in their homes.
