The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has reiterated that it has unshaken confidence in the ability of the governor-elect of Anambra state, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo to raise the bar in the governance of the state, which stands out in the comity of states.
In a statement by its National Chairman, Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye, and forwarded to Daily Post, on Sunday, while thanking the Anambra electorates for voting in APGA and its governorship candidate, Professor Charles Soludo, the party emphasised that the choice of Soludo was made out of the resolve to present a candidate that is fit and eminently qualified to take over from Governor Willie Obiano and continue the wonderful works he has done in the state.
The party national leadership also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its impartiality and for introducing the Bi-modal Voter Accreditation Scheme (BVAS) which it posited, assisted tremendously in protecting the integrity of the whole exercise.
According to the APGA, we urge INEC to fine-tune the BVAS technology to eliminate some of the glitches noticed during the governorship election.
The party also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for driving the process that produced the free, fair and credible election that it is celebrating now.
“The President promised to ensure a free and fair election and he lived to his words”.
The APGA National leadership further thanked the security agencies for standing firm, even in the face of adversity by ensuring that the election was held with minimal hitches.
The party also expressed her sincere gratitude to the people of Anambra state for standing up to be counted when it mattered most by voting for its candidate, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the governor-elect.
“You have by this singular act demonstrated your unremitting commitment to upholding what is best for Anambra state and our great party, APGA”.
The All Progressive Grand Alliance further thanked the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano for his tenacity and courage that led to her victory at the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state.
“We commend the governor also for his numerous achievements that catalysed the process that led to her victory, and urge him not to fail to end strongly.”
Continuing, the party appreciated other Nigerians for their interest in the Anambra state gubernatorial election.
“They showed earnest desire to see the election successful through media discourses, prayers and counselling.
The APGA, however, congratulated the governor-elect, Professor Charles Soludo on his victory at the concluded polls and urged him to begin to assemble the best brains that will assist him to tackle the enormous tasks ahead.
The statement added, “We are not unaware of the humongous challenges presented by the emerging realities of the new world order; and that was why we had to settle for the candidate that has the capacity and capability to steer the ship to a safe berth.
“We extend our gratitude to the people of Anambra State in Diaspora for their solidarity and support.
“We deeply appreciate the clergy and religious leaders for their prayers and support before, during and after the election.
“Above all, we thank God – the Creator of heaven and earth – for his mercy, love and grace that saw us through the difficulties we encountered in the build-up to the election. It would have been impossible if not for his intervention.”
