ENTERTAINMENT guru and record label founder, Obi Asika has enlightened Afrobeats musicians in the Nigerian music industry not to rest on their oars.

The recent Afrobeats Hall of Fame (ABHF) inductee disclosed this recently in a chat with The Nation while commenting on his prediction for the industry in the next few years.

Asika acknowledged the tremendous growth which the Nigerian music industry is currently enjoying on the global music scene but added that practitioners should stay focused.

He also highlighted benchmarks that can be achieved saying, “I think we are still growing, it is important not to get complacent. We think we have this thing the world loves but we have to keep working, stay focused because we are still just coming. People don’t need to be thinking we have arrived. When we have arrived is when 20 Nigerian artists are touring a 100 dates a year worldwide, when you get to that date then you can relax a little bit but right now one or two are beginning to start that, when we get two or three songs ever on the billboard 100. So, we have a way to go but I tell you what, isn’t it a beautiful place to be.”
