Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has said that their round of 16 elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations has made the team stronger.

Tunisia beat Nigeria 1-0 on Sunday to send the West African giants out of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

Musa said the Super Eagles will not continue reflecting on the painful defeat while there is a bigger task of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup ahead of them.

The Turkey-based winger said the Nigerian team is firmly focused on securing a place in Qatar.

Nigeria will take on the Black Stars of Ghana in the playoff and Musa is promising Nigerian supporters that the Super Eagles will take it out on their Ghanaian counterparts.

“You know it is still a shock but I can assure you that things like these make a team stronger. We did our best in the circumstances,” Musa said, according to Complete Sports.

“When you lose at a tournament, it hurts really bad. However, we don’t have time to keep reflecting over what went wrong.

“We have very important challenges in front of us, and all we can do is stay stronger and have firm belief in ourselves that we can do it. The focus is now on the World Cup playoff.”
