Interim coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen has sent a message to fans, calling for their support ahead of the knockout stages at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Nigeria has qualified for the knockout rounds, but any mistake could get the Super Eagles knocked out from the AFCON.
Equavoen’s side qualified for the round of 16 after beating Sudan 3-1 on Saturday.
The three-time African champions had defeated Egypt 1-0 in their opening AFCON match.
Nigeria faces Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday, but it is an inconsequential tie, as they are already sure of a first-place finish in Group D.
Ahead of the knockout games, Eguavoen, in a tweet via his official Twitter account on Monday wrote: “As we prepare for the Next round of games, We need your support now, more than ever.”
Nigeria could face the third-best team in either Group B, E, or F in the round of 16.
