Harrison Gwamnishu, an activist has narrated how he escaped assassination in Delta by men in police uniform and vehicle on Tuesday.
The activist took to his Facebook page to recount his ordeal with the gunmen. According to him, at 1:40pm on Tuesday, he observed that his vehicle was being trailed as he was driving around Asaba Airport.
Being security conscious, he held his phone with his left hand and took a video of them  while driving with his right hand. The video shows the gun man aiming at him as he pulled the trigger.

Harrison wrote on FaceBook, ”THEY POINTED THE GUN AND PULLED THE TRIGGER.
Today I escaped assassination attempt by some men dressed on black driving a black Hilux Vehicle with the inscription POLICE (NIGERIA POLICE) fully armed with AK-47 riffle.
”This happened today at 1:40pm before the Asaba International Airport. Immediately I noticed I was being trailed, I held my phone with my left hand and drove with my right hand.
”I don’t know who they are or who sent them.
The Delta State Police should immediately fish them.
This is the second assassination attempt.
My time has not come.”
Few hours after he made the post, Harrison again updated his followers that the gunmen have been identified as police officers.
He wrote, ”All the officers have been identified. They are attached to CP Monitoring Delta State Police Command. They said they didn’t know it was me in the car and pleading forgiveness for their unprofessional conduct.”
In another post, Harrison wrote: ”I wasn’t stopped by police men, there was no checkpoint and I did not overtake them. They did not even flash their light or put on their siren indicating they were flagging me down.

”When I noticed the car was trailing me, I had to pull out my phone to record and that was exactly what you watched.
”In February, 2021 same thing happened when I was shot several times and till date those involved were not found.
”I wish to thank the IGP CRU Abuja for their swift response and also the Delta State Public Relations Officer DSP Edafe Bright for taking action immediately the matter was reported. Thanks to you all that helped identify the officers involved.
God bless you.”
