Achi traditional rulers back Mbah, Enugu PDP candidate, for governor

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship standard bearer in Enugu State, Barr. Peter Mbah has been unanimously adopted by the traditional rulers of Achi communities in Oji River local government area as their preferred candidate.

Mbah’s gubernatorial ambition received a boost and royal endorsement when he paid homage to the traditional rulers over the weekend.

Speaking on behalf of other royal fathers in Achi, Oji River, the host traditional ruler, Igwe Sunday Orah of Adu Achi autonomous community, said Mbah’s journey to the Lion Building in 2023 would be a success story having started on the right direction.

Describing the governorship flagbearer as “disciplined, fair and independent minded”, the royal father prayed for his victory in the elections, adding that Mbah would record landmark achievements in office through loyal and supportive aides.

Igwe Orah who further said all the traditional rulers had given him full support through their prayers and oblation, assured of the adoption of his sole candidacy.

“I’ve not met you before now but we have been hearing the testimonies of your good deeds. People have been talking well about you, and we have seen that today. Enugu will be exemplary for others under your leadership and nobody will betray you.

“Governor Ugwuanyi is a good man. He is a man of peace who has done well. Our prayer for you is that you will do better for the people,” the royal father added.

Responding to the endorsement by the traditional rulers, Mbah expressed his appreciation, saying the royal blessing will re-energize him. He told them that he had come to pay homage to the popular and respected royal fathers.

“We are here to pay homage to you. We also came to obtain your royal blessing, and we are grateful for the outstanding endorsement and support you have given to us.

“We thank you for supporting our candidacy. We are assuring you that we will sustain your warm relationship with the current administration.

“We will partner with you and ensure development is brought to the rural communities. We are profoundly grateful, and we thank you for your hospitality” Mbah told the traditional rulers.

Present at the occasion were, Igwe Johnson Ozoadibe of Agbadani kingdom, Igwe Victor Meniru of Egwu Achi Autonomous Community, Igwe Oliver Oke’fi, the Ohazuchi of Oji River, Igwe (Dr.) Chuks Mbe’ri Achi, Oji River Urban, Enugu State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Manfred Nzekwe, member representing Oji River constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hin. Jeff Mbah, Managing Director, Coal City Transport Service, Hon. Ken Eziedo, Chairman, Nike Lake Resort, Hon. Ugochi Madueke, among others.
