Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has revealed that concerted efforts are in place to build a very strong coalition that will be used to win the forthcoming election.

JOURNALIST101 recalls that on Saturday, the presidential candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso In an interview with Hausa BBC, argued that their collaboration was especially important as the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had not fielded an Igbo vice-presidential candidate.

Speaking during an interview with Voice of the People Fm on Sunday, Peter Obi confirmed the possibility of the Coalition, but added that a lot more people will be involved in it.

“We are talking to a lot of people (including NNPP). What we’re trying to do isn’t to do it the usual way. It’s not about Peter Obi being the President.

“What we’re trying to do is not to do it the usual way, it’s not a question of Peter Obi being president. We want to build a coalition of Nigerian, especially, the youths to take over our country.

“24 years in the hands of the people we hired. The country has deteriorated. The people we hired have thrown millions of people into poverty, 24 years after, they’ve doubled this number. It’s time to ask these people we hired to go, no matter the side they’re coming from, because they’re the same people.

“We need to now get a team of Nigerians, the youths, civil society, everybody together and say, let us come in as a family and salvage our country. Peter Obi isn’t going to be your usual president who will stay one place and be issuing instructions..

“We’re going to build a coalition to save our country because they’ve run it aground.”
