Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has described the All Progressives Congress, APC, as a national party.
Keyamo was reacting to the decision of APC Northern governors to root for a Southern president
He noted that APC governors have displayed statesmanship and are committed to Nigeria by their decision.
In a tweet, Keyamo said this is one of the most important moments in Nigeria’s history.
He wrote: “A truly national Party has come to stay. Whilst others hope to cash in on ethnic sentiments to win AT ALL COST, the Northern APC Govs have displayed statesmanship & commitment to the Nigerian Project.
“Take note: this is one of the most pivotal moments in the history of Nigeria!”
DAILY POST reported that APC Northern governors backed a Nigerian President of Southern extraction.
11 Northern governors urged President Muhammadu Buhari to consider a Southerner as his likely successor.
